Alcogal sponsored the 53rd international conference, organized by the Inter-American Bar Association (IABA), titled “New Challenges of the Legal Profession, Legal Services and Justice.” The event brought together several jurists from the Americas and Europe, who had the opportunity to discuss important issues on the current challenges and projections in law within the different countries.
Alcogal has been once again nominated in the “Panama Law Firm of the Year” category by the prestigious legal publication Chambers & Partners for the Chambers Latin America Awards for Excellence 2017, one of the most important international awards in the legal field. The awards ceremony will take place on September 15th in Miami, Florida.

During the month of June, Alcogal provided training workshops on immigration and labor issues at the Banco General Operations Center, located in Versailles, and at COPA headquarters in Costa del Este. The trainings were conducted by Ms. Jesibel Morales and directed to part of the legal team, Human Resources, and Payroll Department of both COPA and Banco General.
Alcogal has once again been distinguished as "Panama Law Firm of the Year" by the prestigious legal publication International Financial Law Review (IFLR). The award was bestowed as a result of an extensive investigation process held by IFLR, which included numerous interviews with clients and lawyers in our market.
The awards ceremony took place on May 18th, 2017 at The Pierre Hotel in New York City and was attended by partners Carlos Cordero, Alejandro Ferrer, and associate Patricia Cordero. Several law firms from all over the Latin American region, United States, and Canada participated in the event.
