Alcogal participates in STEP’s Latin American Conference in Sao Paulo

In October 2015, Alcogal participated as one of the main sponsors of the Latin American conference organized by STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) that was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. More than 300 professionals from the region, all specialists in trusts and estate planning, attended the conference titled "Where the common law and civil law converge: the crossroads of the future." Alcogal partner Raul Zuniga from Panama and associates Jacqueline Schwartz from Uruguay and Santiago Isbert from Argentina attended the conference.

One of the sponsors, BVI Finance, took advantage of the opportunity to organize a ceremony in which it officially launched the TEAM BVI Latam and appointed its members. Alcogal’s associate Jacqueline Schwartz was one of those selected for this prestigious team. TEAM BVI LatAm is composed of private sector professionals who represent the industry’s various interests. The main objectives of the group are: to identify barriers and opportunities to enter certain countries, to make recommendations for improvements or changes to products and services, to represent the British Virgin Islands in Latin American conferences, to write articles and to suggest ideas and marketing programs for the region. The team will serve as BVI Finance’s point of contact for high level involvement of business generation and as the territory’s resident experts for engaging with Latin America.
